:: Need For Minority Empowerment ::

There is a most pressing and an urgent need to empower minorities in areas of economic development, education, healthcare, housing, employment, culture, and pursuit of their individual religions. They need to be better represented and be able to receive equal access and privileges in all areas of life. They should get all the opportunities available so that their God gifted talents can bloom and flower only to further beautify the world and make it much more fragrant. Their voices should be heard across governmental and non-governmental organizations so that they take notice of it and take some action towards the solution of it. Minorities should be able to exercise their free will and decision to pursue their chosen areas of expertise without any reservations based on race, ethnicity, gender, religion, or disability. Equal opportunity should be given either directly to members of the minority community or through specialized governmental and non-governmental organizations.

The minority community is perhaps the most neglected community of the society and thus reels under the curse of poverty. It is well known that in the absence of equal opportunity, people cannot become self-supporting and hence have to rely on welfare or charity for their day-to-day living. This leads to the loss of satisfaction and pride that accomplishment brings. It also results in zero or very low self-confidence, which in turn leads to social, mental, physical, and psychological problems. Due to these unfortunate problems, the society witnesses an increase in crime, disruptions of law and order, general dissatisfaction amongst the population, unemployment, and poverty. All these social and individual problems ruin the peaceful and progressive warp and weft of the societal fabric.

However, if the minority community becomes a part of the general society without any reservations, then they cease to become an ineffectual part of it, and thus, their contributions would be appreciated and would not be de-valued or minimized. They would bring about proactive changes in the society making it vibrant and fulfilling on several levels of human existence. They would not be forced to rely on social welfare, and would be self-sufficient. To achieve this end, it is evident that a most vital need of addressing these problems exists and should be dealt with immediately, effectively, efficiently, and successfully.

Plato said, "Watch your thoughts, for they become actions. Watch your actions for they become habits. Watch your habits for they become character. Watch your character for it becomes your destiny." You can help in the creation of the destinies of thousands of minorities simply by joining us.
